The Winds of Change

Since the weather here at Many Point is always the subject of conversation, I thought I'd start with that. Last night was, in a word, "Sticky". We awoke to overcast skies, very humid temps. and no wind. Breakfast consisted of fluffy pancakes with sausages and then it was off to morning merit badge classes. The sky threatened rain most of the morning with rumbles of thunder that seemed to elevate the anticipation of a much promised cool front. About 11:00, the rain began. As far as rains go, it was a real peach! There was not a bolt of lightning to be had, no torrential downpours, twisters, hail ..... just good old fashion rain. This steady stream of water continued until about 1:15. At that time it was cooler but still very humid, so where was the pay off? Where was the promised change? Around 3:30 another round rain showed up to rinse away the remaining weather system. This finally gave way to the promised cool front. I noted that the temp coming up to post this tonight is 15 degrees cooler than about the same time as yesterday, with not much humidity and a good breeze out of the north, should be good sleeping tonight!
